Introduction: The problem of God

                                                                        I have had many fascinating conversations with professed atheists about what I think of as God by following one simple rule: I don’t mention the word “God.” When that word is used, it is often interpreted by both the speaker and the listener in terms of assumptions they may not share. If they don't agree on a definition, they will not be talking about the same thing. The same principle explains a lot of the difficulty people have understanding the political opinions of those who view the world through a different lens.
